On January 28, 2025, a meeting of the Policy and Strategic Guidelines Working Group in the field of building renovation was held at SofiaLab as part of the INSPIRenov project.
The meeting brought together representatives from Cleantech Bulgaria, the Sustainable Energy Development Agency, the Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Sofia Development Association, the Bulgarian-Austrian Consulting Company, the Association of Companies Managing Condominium Ownership, the Sofia Energy Agency SOFENA, the Bulgarian Facility Management Association, and the Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect.
Discussions focused on the progress of the INSPIRenov project, as well as the establishment of two key working groups—one dedicated to policy and strategic guidelines and a technical working group focused on developing a blended finance product.
A key highlight of the meeting was the discussion on the main challenges faced by banks in developing new financial products to support energy-efficient renovation of multifamily residential buildings. Participants emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between public and private stakeholders to address these challenges.
The Working Group meetings will continue in the coming months as part of the project, contributing to the development of sustainable financing solutions for building renovation in Bulgaria.
The INSPIRenov project is funded under the European Union’s Programme for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE 2014–2020) under grant agreement No. 101120723.
