During the Architectural and Building Week 2025, a panel discussion focused on the future of building renovation financing brought together key stakeholders, with the INSPIRenov project playing an active role.

The project was featured in the panel discussion titled “Opportunities for the Implementation of New Financing Instruments for Building Renovation,” part of a broader session dedicated to the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the future of financial mechanisms for energy-efficient renovation.

The panel included representatives from key institutions and organisations such as the Fund of Funds, the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Sources Fund (EERSF), Cleantech Bulgaria, and Econoler.

Key topics discussed during the session included:

  • The need for sustainable, long-term financial instruments for building renovation;
  • The pilot scheme being developed under the INSPIRenov project;
  • Market-based approaches to renovating multifamily residential buildings;
  • The role of the private sector in accelerating energy-efficient renovation in Bulgaria.

Participants highlighted that such events are essential for identifying effective and scalable financing models to support a sustainable and inclusive energy transition.

The discussion reaffirmed INSPIRenov’s role as a platform for developing and testing innovative financial solutions aimed at achieving affordable and sustainable building renovation.
